Dr. Moinul Islam Zaber is a Professor at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Zaber is a Data scientist and Man Machine Interconnection Specialist, whose research focus is on the use of data analytics and design thinking for public policy. He co-leads Data and Design lab at the Department of CSE, of the University of Dhaka. The lab conducts a number of exciting innovative research evolving around BIG DATA that required extensive use of machine learning, data mining, applied statistics and proposes the solutions that are refined through the learnings of theories and practices of human-machine interaction. He was also a Research Fellow of LIRNEasia, a Sri Lanka based regional ICT policy and regulation think tank. At LIRNEasia, Dr.Zaber conducted research related to spectrum management and policy. He is also affiliated as a Research Scientist with the Chalmers University, Sweden. At Chalmers University he has conducted an extensive data-centric research on the impact of Broadband speed variability on quality of life.

Dr. Amin Ahsan Ali is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). He completed his Ph.D. in 2014 from the Department of Computer Science, University of Memphis. He worked in the mHealth Systems Lab and the Center of Excellence for Mobile Sensor Data-to-Knowledge. He worked on the inference of health risk behaviors (e.g., Stress, Smoking, Drug use) from data collected from wearable physiological sensors in the natural environment.

Dr. Sarker Tanveer Ahmed Rumee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his Ph.D. in 2017 from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), Texas, USA. At UTA He worked in the Software Engineering Research (SERC) Lab. His work area was on software security: especially on securing mobile operating system (Android) to identify and prevent sensitive personal data disclosure.

Dr. Ahmedul Kabir is an Associate Professor at Institute of Information Technology (IIT) of University of Dhaka. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Massachusetts, USA, where he worked on developing novel ensemble machine learning algorithms. During his doctoral pursuit, he also worked in the field of health informatics in collaboration with University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Mr. Sabbir Ahmed Chowdhury is a distinguished academic and researcher specializing in STEM education, technology integration, AI in education, and inclusive education. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Education & Research at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, he is actively involved in teaching and research in educational technology and pedagogy. He holds a Master of Education in Science, Math, and Technology Education, an MBA in Finance, and an MS in Computer Science & Engineering, all from the University of Dhaka.

Dr Amin Masud Ali is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Jahangirnagar University (JU), Bangladesh. He completed his BSc and MSc degree from Jahangirnagar University. Later, he obtained an MA degree in Economics from Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (AYSPS) of Georgia State University, USA, under the Fulbright Scholarship Programme. Dr Amin has completed his PhD in Development Policy and Management from the Global Development Institute (GDI) of The University of Manchester, UK. His thesis investigates the impact of local government decentralisation on poverty reduction at the subnational level of developing unitary countries.

Dr. Md. Mahamud-Ul-Hoque is a distinguished public policy, governance, and development professional with over three decades of experience in public administration, development planning, institutional reform, and project management. A former Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and currently a Senior Adviser to the World Bank, he has held senior leadership positions in government, international development programs, and diplomatic missions.

Chandra Shekhar Roy works on various areas of public policy, including National Statistics. Before joining the Data & Design Lab, he worked for 25 years as Senior Maintenance Engineer at Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), Ministry of Planning. After a long career in Data support service specialist in the Data-center of the National Statistical Office, he contributed as Project Director of Historical Data Conversion and Archiving project based at BBS.

Bulbul Ahmed is an education and development professional with over 17 years of experience in education sector management, public procurement, and the implementation of large-scale development programs. He holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and School Improvement from BRAC University and a Diploma in Procurement and Supply Management from CIPS, UK. He began his professional career as a Lecturer in Chemistry in government colleges and later served as an Associate Professor, gaining valuable experience in classroom teaching, teacher development, and academic administration.

Dr. M Ashraful Amin finished his PhD degree from City University of Hong Kong in 2009 with outstanding student award. Same year he joined the department of Computer Science and Engineering of Independent University Bangladesh. Currently he is working as Associate professor at the department. His teaching interest is mostly in the area of Machine Learning and pre and post processors for pattern recognition research. That ranges from linear algebra, probability & statistics, numerical optimization, neural networks & fuzzy systems, deep learners, genetic algorithms, and image processing & computer vision.

Tanjina Tahsin is a Research Assistant at the Data and Design Lab, where she applies her expertise in Political Science and data analytics to quantify societal well-being. Since joining the lab in June 2025, she has been working on the Bangladesh Quality of Life (BDQOL) project: a district-level composite indicator that integrates economic metrics with non-traditional environmental proxies. Her work involves complex data normalization and weighting techniques, and she is currently co-authoring a manuscript detailing this hybrid framework.

Currently pursuing his degree at Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), Fahim has built a strong technical foundation focused on mobile application development, AI automation, and software security. Tauhid Noor is a Research Assistant at the Data and Design Lab. He earned his B.S. in Mathematics–Computer Science with a minor in Data Science from the University of California, San Diego. As a project leader at Biokind Analytics—a student-led nonprofit—he collaborated with community-focused organizations to deliver data-driven insights. His project experience includes, but not limited to, developing a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) based conversational agent and a sign language detection model. I am Khandoker Ashik Uz Zaman, a researcher passionate about Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and modern technology. Skilled in Python libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and more along with web development with Javascript and Python, I leverage these tools to enhance data analysis, visualization, and integration of AI into different fields. Currently, I’m working on the Bangladesh Liberation War Museum Smart Education Platform Project, aiming to integrate AI in education to transform the learning experience of National Curriculum students. Concurrently, I am also working on an AI Art project, where I merge my technical expertise with artistic creativity to present data in novel, visually compelling ways.

Asif Zaman completed his undergraduate program from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka. His subjects of interest are advanced mathematics, probabilities, statistics and machine learning. He accomplished some projects related to Machine Learning recently of which thesis topic was on developing a complete system for Bangla OCR. Currently he is working on the project named ”Visualization of intercity time-lagged correlation of air quality in Bangladesh”.
